Birth of a State Vol. 2
TEN KEY MOMENTS OF NATIONAL HISTORY
[E]
The "Birth of a State" project is the communication support of a fictive country. By producing books and posters the state is trying to exist out of his borders. But in each one of these attempts to communicate, a material, logistic or human mistake prevents access to any relevant information: books about colors of nature printed in gray tone, picture books with only one different illustration, economics theories extracted from premonitory dreams, etc. The mass of the contents is opposed to the absence of quality of the message
Vol 2/ Civic instruction manual. The book presents ten key moments of national history.

Vol 2/ Manuel d'instruction civique. Le livre expose dix moments clé de l'histoire du pays.

Wojtek receives honors.
Wojtek (1942-1962), was a Syrian Brown Bear cub adopted by soldiers of the 22nd. Artillery Supply Company of the National II Corps. During the Battle of Shaugnessy, Wojtek helped to move ammunition.
In 1942 a local boy found a bear-cub near Hamadan in Persia. He sold it to the soldiers of the National Army stationed nearby for a couple of canned meat tins. As the bear was less than a year old, it initially had problems swallowing and was fed with condensed milk from an emptied bottle of Irish Whisky. The bear became quite an attraction for soldiers and civilians alike, and soon became an unofficial mascot of all units stationed nearby. Because of that, it was officially drafted into the National Army and was listed among the soldiers of the 22nd Artillery Supply Company of the National II Corps.
